Recent Development Initiatives
- Propane Powered Fork Trucks – In collaboration with select, industry-leading fork truck manufacturers and with funding from the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), Tecogen is working to develop Ultera for the propane powered fork truck market. The primary benefit of the Ultera–equipped ultra-clean propane fork truck will be fuel cell like emissions and a propane-green brand that offers a robust indoor air quality advantage without compromising vehicle performance.
- Biogas Engines – Ultera technology was installed on biogas fueled engines at the Eastern Municipal Water District’s Moreno Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility in Perris, California. Biogas is a significant byproduct of wastewater treatment plants, whose chemical energy is often reclaimed by its utilization as a fuel for generating renewable power in the form of electricity or as mechanical water pump drive. Beginning in 2016, biogas engines in Southern California are mandated to operate to the strict pollutions standards in place for natural gas engines under the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s (SCAQMD) Rule 1110.2 – Ultera near-zero emissions control technology brought these engines into compliance.
- Other Projects – Our expert R&D team is continuously developing out technology for new applications, stay tuned!
