Tecogen CHP Selected for Watertown, CT High School
WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tecogen® Inc. (NASDAQ: TGEN) today announced the sale of a CM-75 kW CHP unit to Titan Energy for installation at Watertown High School, Watertown CT. The combined heat and power module will be fitted with Tecogen's ultra-low emission system, bringing emission of harmful pollutants down to near-zero levels, an important feature for equipment operating in a sensitive school environment. The CM-75 will provide on-site power along with heating for the facility.
As has been highlighted by Tecogen in the past (illustrated in a Case Study about the Company's installation at Waverly Junior Senior High School in Waverly, NY - http://www.tecogen.com/resources-case-studies.htm - and an article in the Winter 2015 edition of The Hotchkiss School's Hotchkiss Magazine - http://www.tecogen.com/about-us-news-and-events-tecogen-in-the-news.htm), CHP and other Tecogen technologies can provide an excellent solution for school administrators wanting to gain control of energy and heating costs. "Harvard University was among the first CHP installations in Company history and schools account for just under one fifth of our total installed base today, a testament to the suitability of our systems for such applications," said Tecogen President and COO Robert Panora. "With decades of experience installing, operating and servicing equipment for educational facilities, education officials can be confident that our systems are solid long term investments."
The equipment sale includes a 10 year service agreement, ensuring the installed equipment will be well maintained and operating at peak performance for the school community. Speaking about the project, Adam Teff, General Manager of Titangen (a division of Titan Energy) commented, "Titan Energy, Tecogen and Watertown look forward to bringing the co-generation endeavor at Watertown High School to a positive, successful conclusion. This project was made possible by Tecogen's long track record of product innovation and reliable customer service, and by Watertown's willingness to allow Tecogen and Titan the opportunity to succeed where others have failed. We look forward to a long, healthy, productive relationship between all parties."
