Tecogen Presenting at SAE World Congress
Presenting paper on development of Ultera emissions technology on vehicles
WALTHAM, Mass., April 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Tecogen® Inc. (NASDAQ: TGEN), provider of clean energy products which, through patented technology, nearly eliminate criteria pollutants and significantly reduce a customer's carbon footprint, will be presenting a paper at the prestigious SAE World Congress on Tuesday, April 4th. The paper, entitled "Development and Testing of the Ultera® Dual Stage Catalyst System on Gasoline-Fueled Light Duty Vehicles", will be presented by Prof. Ahmed Ghoniem, Ronald C. Crane Chair Professor of Mechanical Engineering at MIT and Tecogen Board member. This peer-reviewed paper was authored by Prof. Ghoniem, Tecogen, AVL California Technology Center, and Environex, Inc.
The paper describes how Tecogen's Ultera emissions technology was tested on an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) compliant light duty truck (LDT) which resulted in significant reductions of carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and non-methane organic gas (NMOG), with no measurable effect on fuel economy. The proprietary technology is a viable alternative to emerging new vehicle testing regulations that incorporate real world driving conditions, such as the EU6d Emission Regulation.
"We are privileged to participate in the SAE World Congress to discuss development and testing of our Ultera emissions system in gasoline vehicles," noted Robert Panora, Tecogen President and COO, and co-author of the paper. "This innovative aftertreatment technology will provide the automobile industry with an emission control system that can be both incorporated into vehicle design, or retrofitted to existing vehicles. We are very excited about the results and look forward to sharing them at the SAE conference and with our investors".
A link to the paper can be found on the SAE Website, or requested from Tecogen's Investor Relations page.
